Benitses is a seaside village on Corfu's east coast, built around an old fishing harbour that now sits alongside a modern marina. Accommodation splits between small hotels and apartment blocks along the waterfront and villas set back on the hillside above the coast road.

Moraitika and Messonghi are neighbouring resorts either side of the Messonghi river on the south-east coast, sharing a long stretch of sand-and-shingle beach. Between them they hold a lot of Corfu's family and package accommodation — apartment complexes and beachfront hotels near the water, quieter villas inland and up the hill toward Ano Moraitika.

Gastouri is the hill village above Perama, best known as the home of the Achillion Palace — the villa built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria and one of Corfu's most visited landmarks. It's a quieter, greener place to stay than the coast below, mostly villas and converted village houses with long views down to the sea.

Corfu Town — Kerkyra — is the island's capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site, wrapped around two Venetian fortresses with the Liston arcade and the Spianada at its centre. Accommodation is mostly apartments and boutique hotels inside the old town, plus larger hotels on the approaches at Garitsa and Alykes.

Kanoni is the peninsula just south of Corfu Town, best known for the view down onto Vlacherna monastery and Pontikonisi — Mouse Island. It's a settled, largely residential area of hotels and apartment blocks on the hillside, within reach of town but quieter than staying inside the old walls.
